Interlocking of stones into the mesh of geogrids with fixed nodes

The SPC00253 (Product Specification) document from ProRail (Dutch Railway Network), paragraph 4.1, indicates that there should be a given ration between (1) the size op de stones from the ballast and (2) the mesh of the geogrids with fixed nodes. This in order to obtain a good interlocking effect between both. As a result of this, a high shear strength and high hook resistance will be obtained.
